Moonbub ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and their families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Moonbub mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide our sleep tracking service:

• Account Information: Your email address and display name, provided during registration.
• Baby Profile Data: Your child's first name and date of birth, entered by you to personalize sleep tracking.
• Sleep Session Data: Start times, end times, sleep type (nap or night), and optional notes you enter about your child's sleep.
• Device Information: Push notification tokens (if you opt in to notifications), device type, and operating system version for app functionality.

We do not collect location data, photos, contacts, browsing history, or any biometric data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide sleep tracking, wake window calculations, and sleep summaries within the App.
• Send push notifications about wake windows (only if you opt in).
• Authenticate your account and secure your data.
• Send transactional emails (password resets).

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not display advertisements. We do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Moonbub is designed for use by parents and guardians (aged 13 and older). We do not direct the App to children under 13, and children do not create accounts or interact with the App directly.

The baby profile information (first name and date of birth) is entered and controlled entirely by the parent or guardian. This data is used solely to calculate age-appropriate wake windows and sleep recommendations.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing), secure token-based authentication (JWT), and secure credential storage on your device.

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained only as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the App. When you delete your account:

• All baby profiles are permanently deleted.
• All sleep session records are permanently deleted.
• All account information is permanently deleted.
• All push notification tokens are removed.

This deletion is irreversible. We do not retain backups of deleted user data.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Expo Push Notification Service: To deliver optional push notifications to your device.
• Brevo (email delivery): To send transactional emails such as password reset codes.

These services process only the minimum data required for their function. We do not share any baby profile or sleep data with third parties.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data associated with your account (visible within the App).
• Correct your account information at any time.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you additionally have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
